Just started out, looks like a great tool! I have a question, if this is wrong forum please steer me right...
I want to use more than one database with a single installation
of piggydb. Tried the Database Title update in System Info, but
don't see it change anything.
1/ can I have more than one PiggyDB in my installation?
2/ how do I switch between them?
3/ possible to have more than one db active at same time (in diff tabs or browsers)?
(did not find this info in the demo or the blog)
many thanks
Hans

explored some more, found the file application.properties lets me change the db name. Hence, can have more than one db if I change "piggydb.database.name=" setting in above file. Workable, albeit a bit cumbersome to edit the file and restart the PiggyDB server every time I want to switch db.

Hi Hans,
Thank you for using Piggydb!
You need to set up a tomcat server on your environment and deploy the War Packages to it in order to use multiple databases simultaneously.
Apache Tomcat - http://tomcat.apache.org/
A database will be created for each deployment(installment) of the War Package based on the name of the war file.
Database Location - http://piggydb.jp/en/fragment.htm?id=16
Best regards,
Daisuke -

Thanks very much for your prompt answer!
I'm just starting out but already find it very useful!
Is Lighthouse ticket the proper way to ask questions?
I face a problem with how to embed a picture, like you do with the cat and dog in the Piggydb Document example.
I try:
[file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/hkalldin/piggydb/IDE_Linker_Sections_category.png abcd] but after registering fragment, link is dead. IE nothing happens when I click it. Also looks like in your example
the cat and dog pictures are automatically displayed in the fragment without need to click a link.
(I did verify the link by using it directly in Firefox address field, it then opens OK in Firefox.) http links on the other hand works fine to click in a fragment, Firefox then jumps to the linked page.I use Windows-XP, Firefox, and PiggyDB stand-alone package V5.0 (for now).
Kind regards

Is Lighthouse ticket the proper way to ask questions?
There are several ways to ask questions: blog comment, Lighthouse, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Any of these is OK.
I face a problem with how to embed a picture, like you do with the cat and dog in the Piggydb Document example.
There are two ways to embed images. One is to write an image URL in content, which must start with "http" (file:// is not allowed by the browsers because of a security reason). The other is to register image files as knowledge fragments (File Fragments - http://piggydb.jp/en/fragment.htm?id=43) and embed them with the wiki formatting. Please refer to the Wiki Markup Help which can be opened via the help button [?] in the editor menu.

I'm still missing something. "The other is to register image files as knowledge fragments ", I look at #43 and #42 but don't understand how you get the banner pic into frag #1 in the example (shown in frag #42)?
Can you please show the mark-up text for the frag #1 example?(URL is not convenient for me as the picture I want is in my local file system and I don't have a web server I can put to be accessed as an http address.) Thanks

Did you notice the text/file switch in the fragment editor? Selecting the "file" option allows you to upload a file, which will be registered as a File Fragment.
Then, there's a wiki syntax to embed another fragment:
fragment:<fragment number>:embed
For example, the markup of the fragment #42 is:
The text fragment formatting allows you to embed other fragments in the content of a text fragment. A fragment embedded in another: fragment:39:embed

- State changed from new to resolved
You are welcome ;-)
I've just registered these issues as FAQ on Piggydb Documents. Thank you for your feedback!
